rebuilt 13bt question. (searched)

Alrighty, my engine's got about 3500 miles on the rebiuld, and is baaaarely starting. When i bought the car in florida it took two or three trys but no more. I live in a super cold michigan and am feeling terrible about haveing to try litterally 30 times to get it warm enough for any compression. is it normal for a new engine to act like this in below freezeing temps? or is my rebuild being rediculus?

(I searched it nothing was specific to my problem at all)

thanks for any input cats!

It is not normal. The car should start right up when you turn the key. If it has good compression, then it is a fuel or ignition issue.

See the other thing is everyone said the sub-zero start system is garbage, but in my case it's actually made a noticable difference. Which says to me that my rotars are just shrinkin down in this cold weather. If it was some kinda fuel issue, would the warmth of my engine make any difference? cause when it's warm it starts back up again the first try.

thanks for the input man....can anyone say it aint so??

Your car has characteristics of a car who's water thermo sensor is disconnected or not working for some ???? reason. If it is disconnected, the ECU will default to 176* water thermo temp. That will mean when you START the engine there will not be enough fuel delivered. So.....check out the water thermo sensor who is located on the back of the water pump housing. Green plug. Two wires.

Or it could be your missing the START signal at the ECU. Pin 3B on a S4

The water thermo sensor input on a S4 ECU is in the middle plug on a green/white wire. I forget which pin. It's in the FSM.
