What exactly is needed on a engine rebuild ? Search was of no help, besides the seals what else is replaced or refurbished ? thanks

 

It all depends on how much money you want to spend a typical rebuild is near 1500 or more that includes seals and gaskets...the higher you go the more stuff you replace... a good site to check is www.rotaryresurection.com

basic apex seals are ~ $800, but if the engine has over 140K miles on it you might consider a full rebuild kit.

 

thats weird, the guy who is going to do my install said 1100 for the engine + install, he said that all he basically installs is new mazda seals ? Does this sound ok ?

 

You usually can get away with just apex seals with OEM HP levels, but if your going for a high output engine you'll want the FULL rebuild & blueprinted engines.

Just make sure he gives you some mileage warentee.
