rebuilding turbo .
Hello,
I want to send my turbo to BNR supercars for a basic rebuild because it's smoking oil right after each shift especially when boosting high. This leads me to beleive the turbo seals are gone. Car has 125k but still runs and idles great.
What parts gaskets or tubing should I replace while the turbo is out.
Any help would be greatful.
Thanks,
Benny

Keep Right Except to Pass
Well, just off the top of my head, if you wanted to get new gaskets you'd need:
Turbo to downpipe
Turbo to manifold
ACV (if you still have it)
Oil feed/return lines
And while you're there:
Vacuum hoses you find that are hard - have a few feet of each size on hand
Or if you were looking to fancy things up you could get nice braided turbo oil lines.
Good luck Benny.

The disassembly and rebuild is relatively easy, but the balancing is defintely best left to the experts, or more correctly, the expert's very expensive balancing machine!
The last time I did a turbo, I removed, disassembled and cleaned it myself, then took it the core and wheels to a turbo specialist who replaced all the bearings and seals, balanced it and put it back together for a very reasonable fee. It just bolted the housings back on and it was good to go.
I might be doing this again soon...

Thanks guys,
If your still looking for the BNR supercar website, I don't know what happened. Bryan is the man you want there and their number is 205-663-4797. Hope that helps.
Peace,
Benny
