rebuilding recomendations
I have an 86 13B with a toasted apex seal. I would like to rebuild it but it is new teritory to me. What is necessary for a reliable slightly modified rebuild (maybe a street port and megasquirt)
The racing beat rebuild kit is over $1k and a good core motor to get enough parts to build the motor will probably be another $500. That's an awful lo of money to build a basicaly freshened junkyard motor.
thanks
John

Take a look at several of the archive threads. I have one that covers the build of my bridgeport turbo-NA engine, and there is another which covers standard rebuild parts and kits. Together they should give you a good idea of what's needed.

shazam thats the one Mr. Cake!
Those prices look a lot better and the info is great. I have a whole machine shop at my disposal and I'm in no rush. I am a DIY kinda guy so I am going to take a stab at it. I'm going to pull an 81 12A apart that I have first just to get a feel for the parts and what it is going to take.
Thanks guys
