87 n/a, T2 tranny or N/A tranny???
87 n/a, T2 tranny or N/A tranny???
I bought this car with no second gear, reverse synchro is shot and 1st gear is not that great either. I just wanted some advice and guidance from you more experienced guys. Should I a. rebuild the tranny b. Get an n/a tranny or c. Get a T2 tranny, the problem with getting a t2 tranny is that I heard the gears were longer. Would this slow down my car in the 1/4 mile and would it matter if it was an s4 or s5 tranny. Any suggestions would be nice, tanx guys.

If you get a TII transmission, you will also need to get the TII flywheel, clutch, starter, driveshaft, rear end, axle shafts and a few other goodies (clutch slave, etc.). Lots of work.
At the MINIMUM, you need the TII transmission, clutch assembly, slave cylinder, starter and Mazdatrix's "TII transmission to NA rear end" driveshaft.
Getting a good used NA transmission is much easier.
