Rebuilding Engine Harness (Connectors)

I'm finally in the home stretch of rebuilding my harness on my '87 NA one wire at a time, but I'd like to replace some of the old cracking connectors and I was wondering if anyone had a source for them. I've culled the salvage yards and can't find anything better than what I have. For all of these connectors, color doesn't matter as much as function.

1st - Connector for O2 sensor - I was hoping I could actually find the locking connector instead of just using a spade terminal like the one that was on there. I don't know if it bears mentioning, but it's a green single wire o2 sensor.

2nd - Offset index Bosch connectors - I replaced all my fuel injector connectors and they're great, but the BAC and the temperature sensor from the back of the water pump housing use the same connector, with an offset index.

Does anyone know where I can find these?

I've checked Summit, MCM, JC Whitney, and done about a dozen searches on the internet over the course of the project. I also took the connectors to a couple of parts stores where I was told they could look the connector up in a book, but they couldn't find anything (not even the fuel injector connectors!)

Any help would be greatly appreciated! I'm looking forward to getting this back in the car and not having to worry about the hesitations and weirdness that I've been having from frayed sensor wires and cracking insulation, and wires that have changed color from the heat and oil exposure.

Have you tried radio shack? I've seen some of the larger stores carry an abundance of connectors.

You can buy weather pak stuff from napa...they should have the catlogs behind the counter. Also known as GM connectors. There is a NAPA store near old town in Lewisville...

Good luck

That's where I buy 90% of my connectors. Some of the stock stuff is made by Molex so you can get direct replacements. I have not found direct replacements for the coil plugs yet, or the stock O2/knock sensor.

But how do you know where to find them in the catalog? I have no idea where the BAC and coolant temp connectors would be, or what they are called, and I need them as well.

BAC and coolant temp sensors use standard injector clips. For the coolant temp, you need to file off the little tab from the sensor, or find an injector clip with an offset tab (hard to find at auto parts stores).

I guess that makes sense, and it'll do in a pinch, I've got 4 extra injector clips anyway, because Summit (summitracing.com) sells them in packs of 8. Never thought of filing the indexing tab off. I guess since the coolant temp sensor is just a thermistor it wouldn't matter much, but I'd be careful not to install the clip for the BAC backwards. At the very least it wouldn't work.

If you need the replacement injector connectors (these are awesome, by the way!) I found them at SummitRacing.com for $13.88 /pk of 8. Part number is MSD-2400.

Anyone have any ideas on the o2 sensor harness side?
