rebuild through the mail

This is want i am looking for....
I want to buy a reman engine block, with a mild port performed on it....i want it done by the time it gets to me so all i have to do is reattach all the other stuff and put that bad boy back in.....
my question is ....
which company is the best to go with on this venture.....???
like i said i want a mild port.....
i would also like the block from my old engine to not have to be sent anywhere until i recieve the new one....

does anyone know the best, most reliable company....
I need a good price, good quality and good turn-around time...
while the engine is out im gonna make the bay look nice and new again, as well as send the turbo to BNR.....so i dont mind a two week turnaround time, so i will have time to clean the bay and paint the desired parts...but more than that and i will get antsy

PLEASE any help on this would be greatly appreciated...!!!

thanks in advance for any help

ALL new seals and Rotorhousings, remember you get what you pay for in a rebuild. Budget rebuilds have their place: But do you really want to do it again in 30,000 miles?

i understand that i get what i pay for, but im just kinda looking for a "general" price range....im trying to save up enough to get this all done at once and right now i have about a grand saved up.....i assume im gonna need atleast another grand to complete the build and install....ie new belts...etc...all the small **** that one doesnt think of untill you dont have them when they count....
i just mailed rotary ressurection with my situation....they are in TN so maybe shipping will be a bit less....does anyone have any info on them....how good they are , if you have been pleased with there service or not...etc...

ok i checked pineapple and it seems what i will be wanting will cost about 3k.....is that price the norm or can i expect less from somewhere else...i want quality, but im gonna have to find a nice "in-between" spot as far as quality and budget go.....the only reason i say this is because my motor is going to go soon.... and i can only HOPE that i have enough to cover this stuff by that time...if i dont then IM SCREWED....HARD CORE....

i live in nashville, but i have family who i visit often in ROANE county, which is about 40 miles outside of knoxville....i hear that morristown is close to knoxville but i dont know by how much....if its that close i would almost see if i could just drive the car there and have them transplant over the weekend or however long it would take them.....BUT......
that wouldnt give me time to clean the engine bay and polish and repaint all the nasty rusted parts under the hood....that also wouldnt allow me time to send the Turbo to BNR for a stage 2 upgrade.....Im not sure what i want to do, BUT my main thing is keeping this rex on the road ......its my only car and i drive 25 miles to work everyday.....i cant walk that far!

uh...

lol

what are you looking for? did you bother to read the FAQ and pricing sections? tech? there is quite a bit of info there, if you bother to look for it.

but is there anywhere else....surely there is
sure there are. nowhere closer to you that I know of, and nowhere to get the same job done for the same rate.

.....i assume im gonna need atleast another grand to complete the build and install....
I can do the r & r as well for an additional $600, but this does not include new belts/hoses that you may wish to replace. I usually like to have the car for at least a week, if not 2, to complete this. But, you mention 3-4 weeks, it would not take that long.

my motor is going to go soon
if you wait until an apex lets loose, your cost (with me anyway) will increase $1-200.

i just want the whole reman process to go as smooth as possible
the best thing to do is bring me a car, let me do the work, and come pick it up. this way you can be sure the install was done properly, and you dont have to worry with loose vacuum hoses and the like. plus, starting a fresh rebuild can be a real bitch for someone unexperienced. IT isnt like rebuilding your chevy silverado, or starting up an engine swap into your mom's toyota camry...

how far away from morristown are you...?
Nashville is roughly 3 hours from morristown, give or take 1/2 hour for knoxville traffic...

i would almost see if i could just drive the car there and have them transplant over the weekend or however long it would take them
if you want to make me work that hard you're gonna have to cough up some more dough

Again, best thing is to bring it here, leave your engine deposit, and come back in 2 weeks with the balance. course, like you said, this doesnt allow you to screw with sending the turbo off, or polishing out metal bits, but this kinda stuff can always be done later, at your convenience. You seem pretty adamant about lack of downtime.
