Rebuild kits
I think I'm going to have to rebuild my 86 GXL It smokes at high rpm's, probably the oil control rings. Good news is I bought it from a friend recently, so he's going to give me some cash back for a rebuild! Now I need to find the best rebuild kit for the money. Anyone know or had experience with any places to get rebuild kits?
Thanks, Ed

I buy mine from mazdatrix.com or racingbeat.com. I tried to buy from Rotary Performance twice on the phone (Dallas is a suburb of Fort Worth) but both times some teenage girl would just tell me Ari is'nt in right now. Major irritation. Don't know any Ari. Just wanna buy parts. Don't care if its Jill, Kim or Heather, just sell the parts. So I call Mazdatrix and get service. Quit using Racing Beat because for some time they did not take credit cards. Called poor service. I think they take cards now, but its too late. Mazdatrix took cards and had a decent site on the web. Some day I plan to try Atkins. They've been around some time and sell superchargers. Talk about venting your spleen! Service is the name of the game. Always has been. Always wiil be.

I know someone that can beat that price. Email me at r_ed_line53@yahoo.com! The question is who's got the best price, but are getting your money's worth?

The rotors are the most critical item on the motor that needs to be inspected. You have to replace everything else in the motor anyways (o/h gasket set). let me put it this way, if your motor is blown, more than likely you need new housings, because when your apex seal brake they tear apart the layers of the rotor housings and everything else around them.

Your right but...
My motor isn't blown it just smokes at high rpm's, probably the oil control rings not the apex seals. I have good compression so I hope the apex seal and housings are OK.
