rebuild ? again
rebuild ? again
Ok just got everything running and did the timing but it idles at 1300 and bounces you know like brap brap brap.... ok this is somethings done when doing the rebuild plates lapped and mild streetport, 5 and 6 ports removed and ramped with defcon, exhaust ported abit and port upward just alittle, rats nest removed and blocked off, TB mod and BAC removed, manifold ported, EGR removed, I have like 0 vaccum lines everytihng is blocked off, so would it be normal to idle at 1300 and brap brap brap the timing is set and it seems like it runs ok and drives ok cant really tell cause I dont want to take it above 4K till its broke in
Sentence structure man, i ran out of mental breath trying to read all of that, LoL
Anyways. Depending on how much you you ported the exhaust up could be your "brap brap" from overlap, but i doubt its that much. Id let the engine idle that high for about 500 miles until she's decently broken in to hold a good idle. My rebuild was HORIBLE at low RPM and idle until she got about 500-1000 MI on it. I bet its rich as all hell and back in the exhaust with that isnt it? You can adjust the idle with the TB try to get it down as far as you can, but id stick with 1000RPM+ until it gets a few miles on her, plus it'll break in faster with a higher idle.
Another thing check for a vac leak and adjust your TPS.
Good luck
