rearend swap

Has anyone done the swap with the 4.8 or 5.12 gears? On mazdaspeed.net they say that it must lengthened to fit. Just looking for any info anyone has on the gears themselves for a daily driver and whether or not it is worth it. Or just get the 4.3 rearend? Thanks, Sean

That would be a pretty low gear (high number) for a daily driver! Very low actually. You should only need a gear that low if you were running 1/8 mile drags or something. I would stick with a 4.3 like the GTUs. Even that rear end is so darn costly, it would seem silly to put in anything lower than that, just a waste of money, unless you plan on winning a big fat prize purse!
