Rear Toe......

OKay for all you who have followed my posts about not chirping in 2nd just wheel hop, well I just corrected the left side toe as it was off 5 notches or degrees or whatever, my question what does a bad rear toe effect any inputs greatly appricated

Well it didn't solve my wheel hop problem I'm leaning toward a broken strut mount, when I installed the AGXs of mine The strut mount looked like it was in okay condition, though I had to use vice grips to get the bolt off the strut

any tow will effect tire wear.
having rear tires set at tow-out can cause a lot of oversteer as the outside rear tire will be pointed into the turn. And it can make the car unstable, especially at speed.

tow-in on the rear can make the rear of the car more stable in cornering since the rear 'will try to drive back under itself' but again, at high speed, it will feel unsetteling.
Our cars are all ready set up to give a little bit of tow-in on the rear when cornering with that tow bushing. it might have worked pretty good when new, but now that our cars are so old, the bushings are cracked and dry and dont work so well. how are those rear tow elims working out?

Your best all around bet is to have the rear tow set at 0° unless your doing some tuning for an autocross or somthing. But for normal driving 0°

Tow-out in the front can help with cornering since the inside tire follows a tighter line then the outside tire. This angle between the to tires is called the Ackerman angle. A picture is worth 1000 words here... http://www.rctek.com/handling/ackerm...principle.html
or in someone elses words: "Normally, when the front wheels are turned all the way left or right, the inside wheel is at a sharper angle than the outside wheel. If you extend the center line of each front tire to a point where the intersect and measure that angle, that is the Ackerman angle."
This site goes pretty indepth to what the Ackerman principle is, but all you need to know is its best if one wheel turns more the then the other in a turn.
Again, tow out in the front wil cause 'dartyness' at speed and on ruffer roads.

i think i read somewhere that tow-in on the front can increase transitional handeling speed since the outside tire will already be facing the direction of the turn, but the inside tire will be 'scrubbing' durring the turn...

0° front tow is good for normal driving.......

if the mount is fine, check all the rear bushings. if you still have the stock ones, they are going to be worn and can have accessive play in them, that can cause wheel hop.

hrmm so maybe an aftermarket swaybar with polyurathane bushings, hrmm the wheel hop is only at speeds though, if standing still I can light up both tires no problem but once the foward motion starts so does the wheel hop.
