rear swap?

I am changing out my 4 lug 87 to a 5 lug set up. My question is I have a complete s5 t2 subframe I want to use but it has abs. Can I use it and just not hookup the wires for the abs? Or I also have a s5 5 lug sub frame with out lsd should I use this subframe and swap the t2 lsd and shafts into the standard subframe?

The NA Driveshaft will not bolt up to the mating flange on the TII Rear Pinion. the TII pinion is larger. leaing the ABS wires from the sensors hanging is NO problem. To install the TII rear end into your car you have 3 choices:

1. Inastall same series Flywheel, clutch, starter, trannt and driveshaft

or

2. Have a custom driveshaft made

or (AND NOT RECOMENDED)

3. Redrill the TII Flange 90º to the existing holes, requires removing pinioin flange from diff and having it redrilled

The car will be a LS1 6-speed so the drive shaft will be custom I just needed to know if the abs t2 brakes will work if left unhooked . So I guess I can just swap the whole t2 sub frame and cut the abs wires of and call it a day.

O.K so I guess LS1 don't get much love here. The way I see it I respect all cars that people are willing to personalize thats the fun of cars in general being different. I know there are v8 sites for these cars but for my suspension and braking needs this site offers alot more info.

The brakes will still function hydraulically just fine. For your Swap questions you are much better served over on www.torquecentral.com

well I'm not here to start a which engine is better thread . Ls1 is my personal choise although I am very impressed with the stock motor . Like I said before this site seems to have more general info on the cars and torquecentral is just about the motor. I enjoy reading both forums and have been looking for a long time before registering and making a post.

I would have set fire to the car already without the archive section . I spent a few hours trying to get the dash out and was ready to burn the car .I went inside for the night and found the dash removal thread here and couldn't believe how easy it realy was just looking in the wrong places. I am forever grateful for that thread alone.
