rear subframe reinforcement

my whole rear end is out right now, I am wondering if anyone knows of good ways to reinforce weak parts of the rear subframe? Ive read a few people saying they break their front differential mounting tab on their rear subframe. I might do some drifitng int he future, but mainly I want to go track my car.

I have access to welding and cutting equipent with only 1 years experience. I can do the work, but I was thinking about differnt designs to reinforce it, I'm not the best engineer

Have people jsut been adding extra welds? I was thinking about adding some triangles to make the structure a little stronger. Ill check how much clearance I have to build more structure

I filled the subframe with urethane foam, and installed a pinion snubber.

I'm doing the same thing to my spare subframe currently. So far the welds towards the front of the chassis have been redone and additional welds to several other 'weak' areas on the subframe. Once I clean and paint it I am going to fill the void with structural foam. I hope this makes a difference as I do not want a rear strut tower bar taking up what precious space the car has. I too will be installing a pinion snubber once my new diff mount arrives.

-YaNi, did you notice any difference with the structural foam?

The outer swing arm mounts can use some help where they attach. I just added extra welding where they attach.

The car is still on the rotisserie, while I finish up the new floorpans and then fresh paint. Its debut will hopefully be in early August.
I filled the rocker panels, frame rails, trailing arms, both subframes, and the rear lateral supports. I don't think the subframe is a weak link. With a pinion snubber installed, a large amount of upward force is taken off the subframe. The only way I could think of further stiffening is the AutoEXE braces.

does anyone have pics of their pinoin snubber installed?

Thanks for the tips guys. I'll do it up and take pics for your guys to see. Im pretty lazy when it comes to cleaning, so dont be suprised if the welds look like they are a little contaminated. I'll do mu best with my grinding wheel, but I probably wont get all the little cracks.

This is what I ended up doing. Let me know what you guys think.

I had to grind away at the corners so it would sit flat

Nothing is welded up yet. I might change my mind, and my buddy has the welder at his place

Is this overkill?
