Exclamation '88 RX7 Conv. - Any Good?!

Hi there, I am looking at a 1988 Mazda RX7 Convertible (stick) with only 37,000 ORIGINAL miles =). The car is in excellent condition, and comes with everything even the original bill of sale from 1988. The seller is asking $6500, as this is the first RX7 I have looked at buying do you guys think that this is a good price for a car with that few miles on it? The seller tells me that he brought it from the original owner about 6 months ago and she had only used it when she went up to her summer house, so it has only been used on basically perfect days. Well anyway, please tell me what you guys think about this. Also do you think it is a good first car? My parents actually want theres back now so I have to buy my own.

Thanks

i would say to continue looking... you can find much better deals and save some money...

$6500 is a bit much imo

(but this also comming from a guy who bought an 86' base in great condition for $700)

YES, If you have the money and like the car the answer is yes.
Other guys will say you can find a better deal but you have to understand your starting with a very new like car. The other option is buy one with a 100k and hope the owner did the maint.

It is a car that was made for 3 years or so, never will be made again. You are not going to find one with that low miles very often, if ever again. You can't really put much of a price on it.. you buy these cars for more than just "a car". honda civics, nissan sentras, ect will have a set value.. there are thousands and thousands of those and they are regular joe cars. The rx7 isnt made any more, and there arent many around especially with low miles. I would say, if it is the car you want, get it.

On the flip side, you could buy one in not-as-good of condition and fix it up for cheaper most likely.. And your going to be replacing stuff anyways if your modding the car.

If you can afford it, go for it. A lot of people have found "better deals" but there is NO substitute for a well maintained, low mileage vehicle.

Makes you wonder why the second buyer is selling it after 6 months? out to make a buck? cause he picked it up cheaper? Don't know your knowledge of cars but have someone with RX7 knowledge look at the things that could make life a nickle and dime nightmare. It would have to be in excellent shape for that price. Good luck
