Rear Speaker Adaptor Brackets

Is there an audio store that carries the speaker bracket needed to hold 6.5 inch speakers in the rear? Or is it strictly internet buy only?

As much as I like Crutchfield and the extras you always get from them when you buy stuff - those adapters are crap. Just do yourself a favor and make some. If you have a jigsaw, a pencil, and a ruler, you can just make your own. Get some good wood stock at any Home Deport, Lowes, or lumber store and make your own brackets.

Yeah I haven't bought from them yet but my friend gets most of his car audio stuf from them and I'll probably get my next head unit from them for all the free goodies.

So far they are the only place I know of that makes/sells them.

But yeah if you or someone else makes some good adapters and would be willing not to gouge on em I'd buy some. I just don't have the time or really the know how to make some myself. =P

I wish I had time to make some decent wood or metal ones. Those plastic ones do one of two things (or both in my case). One, they crack around the speaker to adapter mounting holes/adapter to frame mounting holes. Two, they rattle like **** if you go anything beyond like 1/4 on a decent system. Nothing I could ever do could fix the rattling.

I just got fed up and got some oak board and made two new rear ones. Painted them and then held them down with screws that had rubber bushings on them. Never rattled a bit after that.

I used particle board when I made mine. Although MDF would be a better choice. I also used Dynomat and sealed off ever possible airgap on the inside of the tower to make a sealed enclosure. I had a set of Orion XTR Mid Base drivers in the towers until I started making it a dedicated race car.
