Can someone help me? I've been looking at an 86 rx7 to buy, And I'm just wondering what models and years came with rear seats. Thanks for any help.

 

none, search the forum for rear passenger seats. They came off of Japanese cars...usually.

 

no wrong some usdm cars had the rear seats. they were a option and some what rare. if you look on e-bay they some times have some, also in the for sale section there might be some. so if the car you get doesnt have you can always put the rear seat in.

a way to check if the prospective car you are buying originally had rear seats check on the door sticker where it lists the gvrw and seating capacity. with the 2+2 it says rear seats.

also they are very small seats really only ment for kids and short ppl/amputees.

 

i pulled a set of a 87 GTU and put them in my 90 GTU

 

I have a 2+2 right now in my garage that I am thinking about parting out... It is an '89 N/A... I think the back seats will fit in any 2nd gen but am not 100% sure...

 

any 2gen rear seats will fit in any 2nd gen fc. turbo & n/a, it has the proper holes for the bolts and brackets the only mods i found that are needed are the hole for the bracket to clip into the back rest and getting a carpet that covers the back of the seats.
makes me FC PRACTIcAL for short trips, jumper seats is what i'd call em.
i have a blue cloth & vinyl in my 7.

 

My 88 GXL came with the matching grey leather 2+2 option. Keep in mind, they are very small.

 

nice... i found mine in the junkyard out of a 87 n/a FC that had cloth seats and the goods ' rear seats' i almost crapped on myself when i saw em. i was like what that matches my interior ! SWEEET ! doesn't look like anyone sits back there ? at least it perfect for trips to the store and kids,

I just pulled the maroon seats out of my 87 SE and installed black carpet and bins to go with the rest of the black inteior I installed. IMO I rarely used them, and with 3 5-seater cars in the family I felt no need for them...

 

The seats are most excellent if you have 2 bags of groceries or even a 12 pack... They have this nice little nest like quality to them... I think I caught a couple of birds eye-balling mine once... Damn birds...

 

I don't use mine at all. . . I just like the way they look. The leathers in good shape since no one ever sits back there.

 

Ya think Anyone ever put rear seats on a vert. as thinking of putting some there seems to be enough room for atleast one more seat......?
