Exclamation Rear Seats??????

Hey guys, I was just checking out Ebay when I came across an ad for a 88 SE. I have an 88 SE myself. There is a picture on there of the REAR seats of the car... I sure as hell know that mine doesn't have any rear seats! I thought rx7's were two seaters? Whats going on here? I'm confused as hell....

Rx7's are basically 2 seaters with a 2+2 option. they add the back seat that's basically unusable if you ask me. I think it's just an insurance writeoff now, and at the time it was probably their way of selling it to people that wanted a backseat to feel like their car was a little more useable. just my ideas though

Whoa... how odd that you mention it. Tomorrow I'm taking the back seat out of my car, I mean, seriously. Mine is an 88 SE 2+2, just like in that auction. I don't know how easy they would be to put in a car that wasn't meant for the back seats, but yeah, there was a certain amount produced each year that had the back seats. Resto's right... the back seats are basically a joke. Wouldn't fit a child. Wouldn't fit a *Japanese* child. I put the front seats in a comfortable position and measured exactly an inch of leg room in the back. Also, it only fits two people. There's this hump in the middle with no seat belt where the armrest/box sits. I wouldn't feel safe back there. My cousin sat back there and we had to open the sunroof to get any head room in the front once we moved the seats to accomodate him! I have a pretty large bass box for my car, and I decided that for weight and size the best option would be to remove my back seat completely to bolt the box in there. Pretty near the center of gravity for the car. The seats are pretty easy to remove, I just had to stop because I've been sick lately and was about ready to pass out after fighting fourteen year old bolts that had settled quite a bit. But my seats are in excellent condition, and I've taken long long pains to make sure they stay that way with their seat belts (which are ridiculous) so that I can sell them, on eBay, just like that auction there. I wonder how much it's going for... *clicks link*

Anyone else notice that the car in the pic has what looks to be signs of a fire under the hood?

Just looks like oil spray or something. Doesn't look bad enough to be fire damage... but I guess thats a matter of opinion

10AEs rule, leather, turbo, mmmmmm sexy.
Someone should make a sub box that replaces the bins and 2+2 back seats, exact fit, matching carpet, conceilable, :-D

sounds like a project for me when I get my T2

Hey node, there's a few TII's for sale here in VA...one someone is asking too much for a 91 TII with 25K (93K total) on a new motor, but they want over 9K...another one in northern VA, Mannassas I believe for 2500 (with some mods)...check autotrader.com type in area code 23220 (richmond) and do a 200 mile radius.
