Rear Rubbing noise

okay i have searched, ive been doing so on several forums not just here...so ive decided to make a thread...
my rear passanger side wheel keeps making a noise so i am going to replace the wheel bearing, but i dont think its gonna be the bearing for the bearing seemed fine when i removed it, but oh well its an old car y not replace it... but i also noticed that theres a lot of play on the lover bolt that hooks up the spindle....

<object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/7BB49Wc9bGg&amp;hl=en_US&amp;fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/7BB49Wc9bGg&amp;hl=en_US&amp;fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>

i am also gonna replace the axle because ive been reading that the cv shafts can make this noice like on this thread....

https://www.rx7club.com/2nd-generation-specific-1986-1992-17/right-rear-making-horrible-thumping-noise-video-656066/

exept my noise makes it going 55mph, same noise, and when i brake the noise gets loud like in this video when he decelerates.....

<object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/zzkltHOX10c&amp;hl=en_US&amp;fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/zzkltHOX10c&amp;hl=en_US&amp;fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>

The noise in the second video sounds like a bad bearing.... It's a throbbing/pulsing type noise. I haven't heard an axle do that noise, but I suppose if it has enough play from wearing out it will do the same.

The lower bushing on the control arm that you played with on the first video is a spherical type bearing. It is supposed to move around like that. The issue would be if you notice it has free play as in not the normal circular motion and you hear metal to metal contact or clunking. As long as it feels solid when moved around it's fine.

oh ok so the bushing is suppoed to move like that? kool, it seemed like it was wayy too much play! i figured it was making the spindle bounce around way too much. im going to install another hub with a diffrent bearing and i hope it makes the problem go away if not the halfshaft is next...thanks jjcobm!

While you have that out, a bad DTSS bushing could cause clunking noises. If you haven't already installed DTSS eliminators, now would be the time... Check it for tears or the sleeve inside the bushing moving around freely...
