Question Rear rotor seals replacing

Ok i have a 91 na and my back rotor is reading 0's and my front is reading 85 on all faces.. The car did smoke at all or overheat while running on one rotor just ran like crap.. No overheating or coolant problem. So my question is ( can i pull off the back iron and inspect the rotor and housing for damage and just replace the seals on it?) thanks for any help you guys can give.....kevin

No.

To do it properly requires a complete disassembly. "Half stack" is only appropriate in very specific circumstances.

aaron is right. When you release the pressure on the stack you risk all kinds of things slipping out of their groove such as water jackets and stuff.

I just posted this t\for another member who asked a similar question heres your options-
1- buy a used t2 motor from a japanese engine importing company for around $1200 avg and drive that
2- buy a full rebuild kit and have a shop do the work for you-$1300-$2000 parts and labor
3- buy a rebuild kit and build it yourself with a helpfull "HOW TO" video ..ie. atkins rebuild or diy 13b--NOTE: if you go this route make sure you do it right the first time because serious damage car occur to your engine and that $800-$1000 for rebuild parts alone will double then you take it to a shop and have them stick you anothe couple hundred buxs

4- MY WAY!!!!!!

Buy a used JDM motor , buy a rebuild kit, have a shop do the labor , sell your blown parts motor to the shop or on the forums and still come under $2500
YOU WILL BE SAFE AND SECURE WITH A FRESH REBUILT ENGINE !

Rotary preformance charges $2400 for a rebuilt, parts and labor. If you want them to remove the motor and install it for you, add in another $1200.

Bout $3600 if all goes well, possibly more if you need some odds and ends.

Dude DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM TIGER JAPANESE!!! I bought a motor from them about three years ago and for one they sent me the wrong series and two it was blown. I called them and they tried not doing anything telling me a series 4 will work just fine in a series 5. They are complete bullshit. Im still out $350 on the deal but got most my money back through paypal. I wouldnt buy a damn thing from them man. Just my .02!!!
