rear rotor blown
Well I kind of figured it was the case. I had been putting off the compression test for too long. I fixed every vac leak, electrical issue, fuel delivery, ignition, and timing of my 87 turbo2. Got it idling reasonably solid at like 1000-900 rpms but it still shook like a ****. I believe it blew on the p/o and he didn't know so he swapped a new turbo on it cause the old one got messed by flying apex seals.
Got it fired up, warmed it up. Pulled the two trailing plugs.
Front rotor
3 even bounces
102 psi total compression
Rear rotor
0 bounces
0 psi total compression
I am talking with the p/o now because I had him gave me an engine guarantee when I bought the car. I am still trying to decide between getting him to buy back the car or to give me the cost of the rebuild. I just don't know if I want to deal with pulling the motor/tranny and shipping it off and all that. I can only really work on it on the weekends and if it's dry out =(
Any ideas/suggestions?
