Rear-right camber bolt keeps loosening

Anyone else run into this before? I get an alignment done, take it to the track and part of the way through the day the rear-right will loosen up.

I thought the first few times the guy at the alignment shop had just not tightened it all the way, but this past time I cranked down on it afterwards and it STILL loosened up.

Thoughts? Ideas? I could scribe the cam so I can return it to normal if it happens again and loctite it.

What camber adjusters are you using? Stock, these cars do not have adjustable camber.

The only way I would see the toe bolts moving after tightening is if the nut on the bolt is missing a washer. If it is all there and you have made sure to torque it down to around 46-70 lb*ft then use some blue thread sealant (loctite).

unusual for that to loosen on an FC, happens all the time to the miata's though. we used to be able to tell when tommy's loosened up cause he's crash....

anyways, on the miata, mazda sells a fine thread nut and bolt, which can be tightened more. you basically torque the thing to a million lbs/ft and then replace it at the beginning of the season.

i bet that bolt/nut would fit the FC too.

i would also look for other loose items too, the only one side can be just from the track, most have more turns one way than the other.

Hmm...I remember there being lock-washers, but maybe they've been completely flattened and no longer "lock". I'll probably just throw a new set of bolts on there....thanks for the idea, maybe I'll get some fine threaded Miata ones then!

Loctite was a backup plan, I just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something (like "oh yeah, that happens all the time!")

The stabilizer arm had loosened up the first time also, but I torqued it down and it hasn't loosened since. I'll check again too though.

You can always replace it with a non-adjustable one and get the adjustable toe control link.
