rear licence plate

hey guys,

I've recently put a set of JDM tail lights on my car and i was wondering how you guys fix the licence plate in its position.

Its a european car, and as we use oversized licence plates overhere, the amercan style plates are new to me.

So before i start screwing around i was wondering how you guys normaly do this?

thx

there are two threaded holes in the body, so we just use 2, 6x1.0 bolts....

You got like this:

or like this:

With that I mean the license plate mounting width. I know the Netherlands uses the wide, one-row plates like I got in the last pic. I had to get a tall US-style plate at first, but it was too big even then, so I had to get a EU-style plate holder without the plate lights in it. You can't see it there though, but here you can (as the last of those two pics was a temporary solution from a coupe, not a vert.

Yep, that's what i used to have. Well, still have. Going to pick up the "american style" plates tomorrow.

Because so i don't have threaded holes in the body, instead, eu spec has them in the holder.

So if anyone could post me a picture of that, i could make it like it should be if it was oem.

Thanks!

You got the narrow one (the first pic)? In Norway, if they exist, the holders for those plates are rare. But you still need to bolt something to it.

I just used screws with coarse threads, the plate I got between my lights on the last picture is just some foamy stuff, pretty soft. Drilled two holes in the plate and screwed.

If you are using the US style, you must bolt the plate or the plate holder to the chassis itself, but there are holes for it.

It seemed that the nuts were already there, only thing needed was to drill a hole. Perfect.
