Rear hatch suppose to be automatic??

My struts work 80% of the time, but sometimes I've gotta push up on it from the inside to get it to go up by itself...

The thing that annoys me a bit more is that I usually need to push the latch back down so that it'll actually lock closed when I close the hatch... I think maybe the latche's return spring is too weak, or something, since it doesn't go back down when I let it go.

I have only seen 1 car where the hatch opens completly when the hatch is unlocked. I don't know if Autozone would have the correct struts. The strut has that electrical connection for the wiper.
