Rear end no like being packed with peanuts
So I purchased a rear end from somebody (no names released until this is figured out) and well it was packed not to great for such a heavy object.
I got it in a cardboard box filled with packing peanuts and needless to say the big heavy object (still filled with gear oil) went straight to the bottom whilst coming across county and took quite a beating (no gear oil in it now). who would have guessed that was going to happen
The passenger side diff mount took a good hit it looks like and about three quarters of the metal holding mount broke off and the mount looks a little skewed like the hole is angled towards what would be the front of the car ever so slightly.
I guess what im asking is if i was to have somebody weld that piece back and maybe try to coax the mount back to position would the weld withstand use of the differential or is the differential pretty much screwed.
Also Im not to use to see a diff just chilling there mines usually in my car so i cant tell but the passenger side axle stub keeps falling out and the other side seems locked in.
I post some pics of the f'ed mount....hope they work ive never used photobucket.
they might be kinda big.
Thanks for any help
Matt

I got an axle once.. wrapped in BUBBLE wrap and masking tape not 1 mount made it straight, I wish I had insured it.
below is a pic i sent to the place that sent me the axle... it is how an axle is properly sent.... i cannot recall which website i looted the image from, but it looks like a granny axle...

Is this a replacement?
If so, get your old "rear" housing and just swap them?

I don't like the looks of that. Seems like it's not worth the hassle of fixing versus obtaining a replacement or a refund.

Funny, cause it looks like the other thread with almost the exact same problems / breakage...
