Rear diff

Quick question for you guys,

I blew my diff and need to replace it. Not currently sure what year the diff is out of. Just know its a NA rearend. Will any 2nd gen open diff fit? Or are the s4/s5 different?

My car is an s4 but has been converted so im not sure what rear is on it.

Thanks!

you will need to find specifics on what rearend is in the car, if it was converted to a turbo then it is larger and will not swap with an n/a diff.

all years with swap if you stay na/na and turbo/turbo, ie you can swap in a s5 turbo diff into a s4 turbo car, same with an s5 n/a, but you cannot drop in a s5 turbo diff into a s5 non turbo car. everything needs to be changed that bolts to the differential in that event.

there are outlying differences between s4 and s5 diffs you need to be aware of too, the LSD differentials are clutch type in s4 and viscous in s5. each has pros and cons.

you can drop in an n/a open or LSD then, the sizes are the same between the 2 in n/a cars. turbo are all LSD and are physically larger than the n/a cars.

I have an NA open 3.90 gear diff I'd sell cheap, works great I just decided to replace it with an LSD diff. LMK and we'll work out a price with shipping.
