Rear of the car feels loose when I go over bumps.
well I just got this GXL on the road yesterday, for one the tires need balancing and it vibrates like crazy over 100KM/h and when I go over bumps the rear end moves side to side and it's a very uneasy feeling. I'm aware the suspension is crap and needs to be replaced (it's the electronic adjustable suspension) and the car feels like a boat on choppy water when driving.
but I'm just wondering if the rear swaying side to side is caused by the probably worn out DTSS system, which is probably drastically changing the camber angles (or whatever the hell it changes)
Also.. When I went to go check out the car 1 month before I bought it the power windows and guage cluster lights worked. Since then it hasent been touched or looked at untill I went back, now both of those things do not work, I checked the fuses both under the hood and under the dash, they are all fine.
I also tested it out by putting a 10AMP fuse into the power windows socket and when I hit the switch it blew instantly, so I know there is power going through there.
Any help would be appreciated, I've used the search for the light/windows thing and it dident seem to solve my problem, Thanks!

well.... I have owned 6 second gen RX-7's
every single time this happends to me, its because the rear end mount broke. the only way to cure the problem is to fix the mount.
its not much fun pulling the rear end out, but it not as bad as doing an engine swap.
have fun

My car had the exact same problem when I got it (86 GXL). I had to drive it 500K along the 401 the day after I picked it up - that was an interesting ride!
The rear shocks were shot, and replacing them fixed the problem totally. Don't bother buying replacement AAS shocks, just go with a quality aftermarket shock - they are WAY cheaper and work very well. You may also want to invest in a poly bushing kit (including DTSS eliminators) - it will help any slop as well.

he he, yeah that makes sence.
anyways, i did fail to mention that on all of the rear end mounts that were broken on mine, it would also make a "clunk" noise when the throttle was pressed (and in gear)
it owould make this clunk when shifting gears, and when taking off.
if you car is not making this nois you might want to try some of the other things first.
