Rear Brake Line Help

I just bought some SS brake lines for my fc I went to install the rears and the hook that goes into the caliper on the banjo fitting is just to long it passes the whole on the caliper. My question is how necessary is this? Will it cause any problems not having it in there?

Picture... not sure what you mean by "hook".

Edit: nevermind, I think you mean the bent metal piece at the end of the brake line, caliper side. This is there to prevent the brake line from "spinning" as you tighten it up. If it isn't going into the hole like it's suppose to, get your money back and get the right lines. Yes, you can technically use them as is, but you paid for them.

Well like jjcobm said technically you could use what you got. I bent all my stuff by hand going off what the stock bends were and such but its very tough to do because you can pinch the lines I was fourtunate enough to not get any pinched lines.

Hes talking about the rubber lines, not the hard lines. Return them.
