Rear Brake Caliper Parking Brake Cable Mount question
Guys/gals,
One quick noob type question, but I'd rather ask to be sure lol!
Where the Parking Brake cable (housing/cover/outside portion?) mounts to the Rear Caliper (the portion that doesn't move), there are two nuts it seems on either side of the 'arm' threaded onto the cable. Does it matter which one you undo to take out the cable from the cable mounting? Mine is being stubborn so I wanna double check.
Thanks!

If you just want to remove the caliper from the cable, then remove the nut holding the bracket.leave the bracket on the cable.
But if you are removing the cable itself for some reason then use 2 wrenches, one on each side of the bracket to loosen the cable from the bracket.

Styx, I wanted that bracket (with the U-shaped part that holds the cable) out with the caliper (it's a bolt, not nut btw), but ended up unbolting it for now to get the caliper out. Still want to separate the cable from the bracket though, since I don't like when things are stuck on. And I also wanted to paint the bracket, then bolt everything up with antiseize and lube.
Left the damn parking brake on when I went on vacation this fall and the parking brake mechanism is lazy. Good time to use the rebuild kit though.
FYI - Rockauto has a shitload of Wholesale closeout parts for our 2nd gens.
