Rear brake cailpers?
my brother pick my car up and told me my rear brakes are frozen. i am 1,000 miles away trying to get my car drivable and to my self. i current have 4 lugs on there. is it better to just replace them with the calipers that come on it or swap on GTU or TII ones? i want to do a 5 lug conversation but do not have the car here to do it nor the funds yet. what would be the best course of action. also recommend vendor. I keep using autozone and i am not sure if that is a good idea.
if you don't have the funds yet I'd say go the cheap route to get it to you (safely, of course), which would most likely mean putting rebuilt 4 lug calipers on it, or ones from a junk yard.
brakes is a safety device so just get whatever works at the moment. better be safe than sorry.
Autozone is ok for most, their "Reman" parts are mostly not really re-manufacture. They cannot call it OE brand new because ... its not OE. most of the time they are brand new parts but they have to call it a Reman so they don't have any liability issue.

If/when you go five lug, there's really no compelling reason to upgrade the rear brakes anyway.
The only difference is the "turbo" rear brakes run vented rotors (so the caliper body is slightly wider also), the standard rear brakes run solid rotors.
On a street car, there is no discernible difference.
