Question is it really worth the money?

hey, i have a 91 rx7, non turbo. the engine has 114,000 on it, bought it at about 100,000 for roughly $3,000. i just recently done a lot of minor tune ups on it(spark plug replacement and all that crap). i was wondering whether or not to keep this car. i bought the car and it looked so good and ran so good from the start. after having it, the car got keyed, a lot of the paint started chipping away, and i need a new front bumper. all in all the car needs a paint job and bumper, and there are tons of little things to fix on the inside(malfunctioning ww switch, broken misc plastic pieces) plus on top of that, i was told the engine isnt in the greatest condition. i was on mazdatrix.com just getting a rough estemate on everything i needed. lets just say pretty much everything without the engine was about 2000 that i needed to replace and fix. now i was wondering is it worth spending the 2grand, getting a paint job on the thing, and getting a new engine for the thing. ive seen rebuilts with new parts going for 5000. am i better off keeping the thing and repairing and replacing everything(basically dropping 10grand into it) or should i just get a new car. pretty much what i am asking is, once everything that i need to replace and fix is fixed and i drop a new engine into the thing and possibly a trans swap. will the car run worth the money thats put into it. i know you cant predict the future but some opinions would be nice. i absoloutly love this car, but am i better off using the 10 grand twards a new car, or making a mean rotary machine?

yeah, the only reason im leaning twards a new car is the whole "super compact" fad thats going around now. toyota has that new yaris that looks awsome and it starts out at like 12,000. then scion has their i think xA(not the boxy van one, the smaller one) that starts off at like 14,000. plus mitsubishi i think is commin out with a compact too thats gunna be like 12,000 or so. thats why i said, i could take that 10 grand and get a brand new car for only like 4,000 more

Yeah, get a Toyota. I'll give you 500 cash right now for the car. I would offer more, but since all that crap is wrong with it, I'm giving you a break.

PEACE THE MUTT

You can finance a new compact and still have money to play around with. The choice is yours. If you like the N/A fix it up, if you want to spend thousands over the course of time for a rotary beast sell the N/A and by a TII.. This is just a suggestion and I would appreciate you N/A guys not flaming me for it. Besides even god agrees with me....

500? lol, kelly blue book, even with the milage and its condition, private party is almost 2000 and a trade in is 1500. the car still runs good, it just has gone to **** on the outside and a lot of plastic pieces like the air vents and the rvm triangles are cracked. i think ill keep it for when i trade it in for a yaris
