I have an 88 t2 and it is running REALLY REALLY rich. I am not talking rotary rich(the way its supposed to be from factory).

When I get out of the car and sit for a second, my eyes will start to water its so bad. You can smell it while you are moving...

Anyways it misses a lot and it doesn't like the gas pedal when it is cold either. I don't have the air pump on... no emissions and the cat is pretty much dead I think (haven't taken it off and checked yet, but it has 130k miles on it.)

Power is also sketchy. it likes to hiccup very often w/ power...

This is a fresh motor. Any Ideas/thoughts?

 

Change/ditch/gut the cat and come back and tell us what changed.

ya cat I was hitting 98,000 miles on my 90 conv and it was smelling rich to i changed it and gone

 

my money is definitely on teh cat. they start to smell like a dirty gym shock itn eh bottom of your locker
