Because of the beefier frame section in order to compensate for the lack of structural rigidity due to the lack of a hardtop?

The front subframe on a convertible has a rear crossmember that gets in the way of most down pipes and headers.

However unless you are looking for a true dual header, the same gains can be gotten by using a down pipe and pre-silencer combination. Racing beat does make a vert specific down pipe for that application.

The cats are part of the exhaust pipe, not part of the exhaust manifold.

You would use the stock exhaust manifold when using a down pipe, however the down pipe would replace the pre-cats, and if you use a pre-silencer then also the main cat.

Unless you have down some porting to the intake system, or are running with non stock induction, a header will not net you any more HP than a good down pipe., as well as a down pipe will be considerably less noisy.

Well again, a down pipe would be a better choice, but call Racing beat and ask them if their Road Race uncollected header fits a vert.

You do understand that the header you are looking at on ebay is uncollected and requires either a collector or for you to run a custom true dual exahust system, right???

True duals would give you a nice HP and Torque gain, over a collected header or a down pipe, but some people find them rather loud.

If you have a single cat back, and no modifications to the intake manifolds and ports, then you are better off just getting a down pipe and pre-silencer (as long as you do not have emissions testing in your area and can stand the smell with the top down).

headers going into a single and not having porting or manifold changes, will not get you any moe HP than just a down pipe.

Why not just remove the 'vert brace'? Add a more compact undercarriage lower control arm brace and use any NA header.

brace:

4 point aftermarket:

What happened to all the undercarriage CABs? Most stores/shops had them in stock. Don't see any by Cusco/JIC/Tanabe/GAB/Mazdaspeed...... anymore.

Oh, i found them:
