Question timing issues?

hi im new to the club and im fairly new to the fc world, i have a 91 fc and ive done little things here and there, emissions removal, ps ac sp manua fan removal, new engine, my prob is that the only way it will run without knocking is if the plug wires are hook up backwards on the coil packs and the timing is all the way retarded. someone told me it might be the ecm, i checked the cas and its fine and not off a tooth, timing light shows close to specs. any thoughts?

Hey newbie,

why you thought you needed multiple threads on the same problem is beyond me... threads merged, and bumps deleted

Get used to it.

Icemark has helped me, and alot of other people here on the forums, but when your a jackass don't expect help from anyone. Its not like you have to earn our respect or anything for help, you just have to follow the rules, simple as that.

So yeh, people get angry, it happens, dont worry about them :p

Anyway, you can have your CAS 180 out of rotation easily, somone could have put your pully on wrong so the timing lines don't line up. Theres other ways this could have happend.

They seem to think your PULLEY is on wrong. Stock, it should go on only one way because the four bolt holes are staggered in such a fashion that the holes will only line up one way. UNLESS little Jimmey Numnuts, the guy who put it on last, forced the bolts in the holes by elongating the holes and now the pulley is not on correct.

Remove pulley. Examine the holes for elongation. See how the pulley should only go on ONE WAY unless forced on another way.
