Real Time Help - Fuel Injector O-Rings

N/A S5:

I pulled the fuel injectors (the ones on the UIM) to replace a hose today and when I started my car up it idled really bad. I noticed that one of the injectors was leaking at the O-Ring that goes into the rail.

Where can I find these orings locally? I read one post that said to go to autozone and ask for a bosch oring kit? Something about a 2001 Ford F-150?

What other car can I use the O-rings off of that will fit my 7?

Can anybody help me find these A.S.A.P, I really need the car running tomorrow.

Thanks!

The Bosch o-rings are only for Bosch 160lb (1680cc) injectors. Just ask for o rings for your car.

i did try asking for orings today around town because I had a feeling this would happen. Seems no one carries them for S5's.

I looked at the parts store websites, I notice they do carry the orings for 88 Rx7's. Can anyone confirm if these will work on my s5?

Thanks again.

Also, do the orings need to be "specifically" fuel injection orings or can i use any plain orings? Thanks!

i'm pretty sure s4 ones will work fine. almost any Denso 80s and early 90s-style top feed injector will work.

DO NOT use "any old oring." I have seen firsthand the results. With the ignition in the on position and the car off, jumper yellow two-prong test connector on the passenger side strut tower (it may be covered with some fuzzy foamy crap). That will pressurize the system to check for leaks without having the engine running. You can even do that with the UIM off.

Thanks for helping me out. I used that yellow jumper to find my leak earlier today, I thought it was the PD it turned out to be a leaky fuel clamp so I replace the whole fuel line.

Funny thing is that the injector didn't leak while I pressurized the system, only when I ran the car. I will try hitting up the parts stores tomorrow hopefully I can these S4 O-Ring Kits.

If anybody else has better ideas let me know, i'll keep checking this until tomorrow afternoon. Thanks!
