There's no benefit to a divided housing without a divided manifold. If anything it would impede flow. The reason for having a divide is to keep the energy(exhaust pulses) seperate as long as possible because when they meet they start to cancel each other out. This means that with a divided set up your turbo spools quicker, at least on stock setups anyway.

the reason rear irons break is engine twist during detonation, not HP levels. if the engine doesn't twist then the apex seals will shatter into a million pieces.

which is cheaper?

$350 stud kit, $300 for a rotor and housing and $250 for apex seals and $125 for gaskets

$500 dowel pin the engine, $300 for a rotor and housing and $250 for apex seals and $125 for gaskets

or

$100 or so for a rear iron, $10 for a dowel o-ring, $25 for coolant seals, $5 for sealant

to remedy both you can fix it by simply turning down your boost because you are pushing more than the fuel can help to protect as far as knock protection goes.

^ Couldn't have said it better. Bottom line, don't detonate your engine.
