Question RE 2k kit?

ok guys,
I have a pic attached from the RE japan site. Its of the front of there FC thats in the AEM video. Is this a different front or are things peices attached on to the 2k front for aerodynamic reasons? And also how much is 35,820~@i艿@39,800~j in US dollars?

I usually call em canards (like on planes)
They help, this fad more than likely came around from JGTC cars.
It's "mostly" a style thing, but yes they actually help, and that RE car is a fully gutted and prepped race car

to find out the price of things in Japan you must first find out what the YEN rate is and then divide that by what ever the price is. right now the YEN rate is about 132 yen to ths $ so the prices you are asking about are 35820 = $270.45 & 39800 = $300.50

a quick way is to take off the last 2 zeros... like 138,000 yen is 1380 dollars, but this isn't always acurate. as the yen and dollar do not always stay the same rate....

I agree with that. However, mainland Japanese run 1-Gun(highway) top speed for bragging rights. RE-tuned FD's are one amongst many of them. Most of them can see speeds greater than 300Kph. Hell, there's even a "300Kph" Club!

I was passenger in a Supra that hit 316Kph trying to catch a Saurus-tuned GT-R. It's much more fun talking about it than doing it -- I damn near needed a diaper.

Anyway, at that speed, I'd appreciate all the downforce I could get!!!

I also agree with the "mostly style" comment. On a side note, I just got Tokyo Extreme Racer for PS2 and they have a DVD extra of a documentary on what RotaryMiata was talking about, it's crazy watching all those cars racing at speed in excess of 300+ KPH!! Anyways just thought I'd say that.

Just get a dogbox with six gears, and a bridgeport.

You can probably make them yourself. Tap Plastics here in the bay area has the carbonfiber sheets and the chemicals to boot.

My buddy makes the exhaust heat plates for Ducati's...looks pretty easy...but smells really bad.

Canards look kinda cool and I guess there is allot of air in that spot as it rolls off the frontal area, but I bet a vertical lip on the edges of the hood (like 70s racing Porsche) would add alot more down force by keeping air from "spilling" off the sides of the hood and so making the whole hood slope more of a "wing".
