RB turbo back too loud for my taste.

Hey guys. I have an 87TII with a ported engine and a T04B with a RacingBeat turbo back exaust and its just too loud for my taste. Is there a way i can quiet down the tone??.. I just dont want to attract cops. Im also getting exaust sound from the engine bay (no leaks). I heard that using header wraps will reduce exaust noise from the engine bay.

Im thinking adding another presilenser??..will having 2 presilenser work???...HOw about adding a 3"cat. Any input is a good input...thanx for reading..

I hear the Borla Xr1 muffler works pretty good as a presilencer, try putting one of those on... I am surprised the rb turbo back is so loud for you. Normally people say it is fairly quiet until you romp on it.

I know a dude with a To4B, full 3" exhaust, and a BOrla XR1 as the muffler (Manolis_D from this forum).
Pulses so much that it sounds like a helicopter, and is so loud that it may not even be race leagal.
Nice construction though.

Wel from all that I hear on the net and in sound clips the RB stuff is the quietest stuff around unless you stick a brick in there. You can try putting in a pre-silencer or a straight through muffler in there to tone it down a bit. But if you are modding your car you should not exoect it to sound stock at all.

I meant put the borla Xr1 before the dual muffler's at the end... or single muffler, whichever you choose.

The rb already has a presilencer in replacement of the cat, i've never heard of people complaining about it being too loud, is your wastegate routed back into the exhaust? A 3" hi-flow cat will quite it down a bit.

Yeah i totally agree with you about modding and louder exaust. Im just wondering if there is a way w/out replacing my system. My friend with an 89 ported NA just installed a straight thru exaust with Greddy/Trust cat back and i noticed it had 2 presilencers on the cat back, one for each muffler.. Imagine a straight pipe, no cats, with RB headers. And our cars almost sounds the same....I guess im just dumb asking this question...

Hey you sold me that T04B... SO, Are you saying remove the RB presilencer and install a 3" cat or run both. Im thinking run both..like in the front of the presilencer..Also will i need a air pump???..i dont have that..will it hurt the 3" cat..
