Question RB Road header and Apexi N1 (true dual)

Alright, now it's my turn to ask questions about exhaust. Anybody have any educated guesses at how loud this would be, with silencers in (or without) in dB? Would it even be streetable anymore, or would it be like driving a '70 chevy big block with open heads? I'm thinking about going RB Race header to straight 2.5" pipes on back to dual N1's on each side, no presilencers. Any idea's?

Here are a couple points to consider:
(1) When I used to drive my 3rd gen around Boston in nonseq w a dp and an apexi N1 I would setoff car alarms all the time (even in seq mod).

(2) my friend's car with a DP, MP, greddy SP is even louder, despite the fact that his catback is quieter.

(3) my other friend's car with a single turbo, MP and a Greddy SP is MUCH louder than number (2).

Now if I understand what you're proposing you want to take (3) (actually worse than 3 if you're putting this on an NA motor) and combine it with (1). That is like crossing the steams in ghost busters. If I was going to do it, I'd go with a greddy catback instead. Then at least you won't have as much droning noise.

Had the same exhaust
LOUD AS HELL BRO.
I never got pulled over but only after I added resinators mid way up and put in the silncers. but before that at 5000 RPM 15 feet behind the car you couldnt hear yourself yell. Flowed nice though....
Ask Kevin sks hypntyz7 about it. He did the work on it.

I plan on leaving the silencers in for most of the street driving. How loud was it with silencers? Too loud to take on a road trip somewhere?

Nope, standard NA housings. Landers pretty much talked me out of this idea and told me to instead go with the standard manifold and the RB replacement pipe and presilencer w/ my apexi's in the back. Ahh well, so much for being crazy!

I have a TII, down, midpipe, and single N1. I think I have some slight hearing damage from it. No,really. My ears ring after I'm on the highway for a couple hours, slightly. On an NA... it will be....LOUD.

Oh, and if you are thinking of using the silencers, they are junk. Not only are the a bitch to get in and out, but they make your outlet effectively a whole 1 inch or so. It puts a LOT of backpressure on your car when you're trying to flow air. More so on the TII though... but whatever.

exact same set up as you and I love the sound of my car. I thought it would be loud as hell like a bike gang or something but it's not loud at all. If you think it's loud you need to hang out with more fox and f bodies

Sorry for not being more specific, I understand why not go with the catback setup, but why not a header, and go with the stock manifold instead?

If you are in a budget I guess that is fine, but I can't think any other reason as to why

Well, to begin they give more noise than power, and with no presilencers it's going to get loud quick.... I've thought about doing a street header with presilencer, but that's a little on the expensive side. Ahh well!

That is exactly what my set up is. However I want the quietness so here is the set up

RB header - Bonez Silencer- Dual N1 with silencers

If I need to race I can pop the silencers off of the exhaust. My car drws enough attention by the cops.

just gonna reiterate what everyone else said - it's gonna be LOUD.

my friend has a header to a single and with the silencer, it's SOO loud.

withouth the silencer, your ears will HURT if you stand by the car when it's at 6k or so. (he got into **** at autoX cause his car is too loud.. lol)

The more noise than power hasn't really been proved yet, and the only dyno compariosn that I've seen here; showed more HP with the header on.

My NA with RB header & pre silencer, HKS 50mm dual catback is kind of loud. I can definetly live with it, for the past 6 years I have and so my now wife. The only time it truly sucks its in what I call it's "sweet spot" between 3500-3800 rpms!!

Hope this help man, and yes it's kind of expensive
