RB Header- Stock Cat-Back ?

The RB header I ordered should be in soon and I was wondering, if I installed it before I decide on the cat-back, if it would sound terrible. Also, I've been looking at a lot of the cat backs and I am wondering which one would have the deepest note. The systems i've been looking at are all dual muffler setups; RB,RP,Borla, and I love the looks of the GReddy Power Extreme Exhaust. The cost is not a factor. Thanks for any input.

Rb heads with stock catback wont fit, you will need a presilencer or a bonez hi flow catalytic converter.
as for sound it will sound raspy but not that bad...

BUT

rb headers+rb PreSilencers +Apexi GT Spec = sexy low rumble
thats single sided though...

rb duals are nice ^^

rb and a stock CAT BACK will fit. but there is a missing link. get the pre silencer or go to an exhaust shop and they will work ya wonder. or a bonez high flow cat.

From what those two guys said :P

It sounds ok at low end, at least from inside. But gets a bit raspy on the top end. I switched from a hi flow to a presilencer and it sounds a bit better now (louder but less raspy).

I'd imagine any better flowing cat back system would be a lot louder. Right now it is bearable. But it could definitely sound better :P

Guess I should have mentioned that I had the bonez high flow cat on there already. However I found an emissions loophole so I may too replace it with the RB pre-silencer.

do it. there is nothing to worry about unless you have a S4 and you need the exhaust back pressure to operate your 6pi. As for power. I don't really feel that much of a difference XD.

I do actually, however, soon as I get a rain free day off I plan on changing the activation via the air pump. My intentions are not to create a race car. I just want to free everything up as much as possible.

Can you guys see my signature?

If you ordered the correct RB header it will have an extra small (1/4in) or so pipe that faces directly into the exhaust port that provides back-pressure to work your 5th & 6th port actuators so that you don't need the split air pipe that comes from the cats. It also comes with a ACV block-off plate so that you can eliminate the airpump. I love mine & it sounds great, looks good and is a work of art. I blew my wad & got the whole RoadRace True Dual setup & couldn't be happier.

Thats what I was afraid of. Thats why I was asking about the deepest toned cat-back. I know what im trying to accomplish is near impossible, which is a somewhat quiet NA RX7 with a full exhaust.

The same goes for me, I would love my car to be quieter. I have stock everything except for Dynaflow mufflers, it is not loo bad, the clutch fan is louder than the exhuast at an autoX.

I know a guy with RB downpipe, presilencer and mufflers, his car is about equivalent to mine, but not quite as quiet as mine was with the stock mufflers.

I have heard that RB is the quietest aftermarkt exhaust.

(If only Mazda had made them stainless steel, I can't afford $275.00 each for new ones.)

Yeah, RB is kinda the standard around here, and although I usually try and stray from the usual, the fact that RB made that system specifically for a rotary is very appealing. I have been looking at a lot of exhaust clips on youtube, but im sure they would all sound completely different in person.
