RB Cat Back system
I just noticed Racing Beat mentions a "new" muffler supplier for their Cat Back system named Power Plus
(http://www.racingbeat.com/FRmazda2.htm)
Does anyone have this system?
How much louder is it than stock?
Thanks!

Hey man, I heard the new system on a streetported TII. Very quiet, t04 hybrid and running a haltech. The car is at Rotorsports racing as well as a TII with the old system on it. Haven't heard the old one but the new system has the polished canisters but same design. I will be putting this system on my TII. Hope this answers your question.

RB exhaust
That helps. I was hoping someone with a non-turbo FC would reply who has it on their car.
I just don't want something too loud to attract cops etc.

Here is where I chime in . I was close to if not the first person to get there “new” style muffler system. For a comparison on motor mods I have a 89 GTUs with a Apexi intake, Bonez down pipe/pre-silencer, and the RB cat back. All my other mods wont aid in the sound of the cat back. It sounds sweet it has a deeper idle (compared to stock) but still sounds soft down low. So for normal street driving you wont attract any un-wanted attention from cops . But from about 6-8k it gets that nice clean loud chain saw noise. I have heard both. The first system was overall louder and more raspy, it missed the sweet clean rotary sound. The back fires on the new system are more like a super loud cracks and not a big shot gun boom. All in all I love the fit, sound, and look. Hope I have moved you in the right direction.

RB new style exhaust cannisters.
PERFECT! That's just what I was looking for. Thanks so much for your response.
One more queston if you have a second:
If you have a gutted out stock cat, and an RB cat-back system, how much hp do you think installing a header will yield?

I hate to tell you but from my experience the header sometimes seems to slow down the stock motor (not enough back pressure). It just does not benefit from it unless you have a street port. But I have only noticed this on S5 cars (1989-1991). What year is yours? you talked about gutting out the stock cat did you only gut out one? If you have a S4 (1986-1988) you have 3 and if you have a S5 you have 2. IMO I would just do a RB down pipe W/Pre-silencer and the RB cat back and you will be a happy camper. The Bonez down pipe is smaller and a little more restrictive so if you hare worried about sounds being to loud that might be another option.
