Rattling Exhaust Mani. Heatshield

Hey,
I got the whole intake apart right now...so I think its a good opportunity to try and fix the rattling of the heatshield. The shield is in OK shape overall, with the exception being where it counts the most - right around the bolts that fasten it down. One bolt holds ok on top and one on bottom. So...obviously...it rattles alot.

Any suggestions (short of buying heat wrap) that I can do to the shiled to strengthen it, or reinforce it, or attach some sort of hard rubber (high temp stuff???) in between the mani and the shiled to stop the noise?

Any ideas/suggestions?
Thanks

This is how I fixed my rattling heat shields.

I took them out.

Couldn't ya just drill a hole through the heatshields and run a nut and bolt?

why don't you try washers as spacers to take up the slack between the bolt and the manifold.

jspec: are you sure thats okay to do; Doesnt the heat start to soak the rubber hoses above it?

YES! this was exactly my question, my heatshield is pissing me off its constantly ratteling. Id go with either getting a new one becuase of the corrosion it has or possibly getting rid of it after i get me RB headers. Does anyone know if removing the heat shield is bad for the engine? Or maybe the rubber houses near it??
