Rattle on '88 convertible top...

I've got an '88 vert with an original too in decent condition. The one pain point is that the latches that hold the hard-top to the rear soft top section (bunk behind your head) rattle like crazy over any bump. I've looked and i don't see any loose bolts or nuts.

Anyone have any thoughts here?

More details. Do they rattle when the top is up? Do they rattle when the top is down?

How bout when the top panel is removed? You might check all those variations then report back.

I have your awnser. Don't thank me just yet.

With the top up the hard section is connected to the soft section via the hinge. It rattles when going over bumps. I realized that something was missing on one side ...... It's a plastic anti rattle thingy(I know I know) that goes between the one part of the hard section and the soft section pin. It's sort of like a washer made of plastic to prevent side to side motion on the pin.

I went to the Mazda dealer and bought two and it doesn't rattle anymore.

Hello,
My name is David, I just joined this site because my convertible top is having the same problem, rattling. I live in Minneapolis Minnesota and the dealership has no idea what part this is that you procured from mazda. Do you have a parts number? Or can you tell me the name of the dealership in Canada that you bought it from so I can obtain one myself. Thank you
