ok first off problems with the car, the coolant seals are blown. only engine problem, now your part.

i'm going to have to take out a loan to get it fixed and thats the bad news the good news is that i'll have a running car again. i've been estimated at 3k for the rebuild, now would you think that the rebuild shop would also install a catlytic converter and possibly my passenger power window moter?
oh and with the rebuild i want a new radiator would you think that they would allow me to buy the radiator and bring it to them to install?
what type of radiator should i get?

ranting over now

3K? Whoa. Can't you find a used T2 for about that much I know shops charge a lot for fixing things but if you are at all mechanically inclined, or have some friends, I would find a used replacement motor, or even a new one, and drop it in because it would be a whole lot cheaper.

Just an idea.

OK. Before getting the rebuild make sure its a reputable shop and ask what all they will be replacing. If they can reuild the engine, they can install a cat. and window motor I'm sure. I highly recommend an all aluminum radiator(fluidyne, koyo, k2rd) and I bought mine and took it to the shop to have it installed since my car was already there. If you get the proper radiator installation is very easy though.

sadly i dont have the funds to afford a t2, insurance alone on this one for some reason was 305, and that was liability only(Getting It Looked At), and the people here overcharge for the t2's i've seen one in the paper for 3 weeks now wanting 12k, and wont back down from it

2 main factors for 3k rebuild
1. Las Vegas Nevada...
2. No Mazda Dealership, Found Only 2 Rebuild Shops That Will Rebuild

I have a random question for myself. Do you think an FC3S is a good choice for my first car?

thats alot for a T2 motor. i bought mine for $1000 off ebay. theres a shop that sells them on ebay alot. between 25,000 and 30,000 miles on the motors. also they come with the wiring harnesses, but not the ecu.
