RANDOM Hesitation thread to end All...
Ok I have made numerous attempts to stop the RANDOM hesitations at various RPM's in my car. I tried everything from Re-grounding the motor, alternator, bell housing exhaust and ecu, replacing fuel filters, and fuel pumps. To things as extreme as replacing ECU's, new wiring harnesses, new tps sensor, new mass air flow sensor, o2 sensor, doing the water trick, replacing the terminals on the battery....the list goes on.....NOTHING WORKED!
After around $600-$700 in useless parts purchased, i finally bought a can of $1.99 starting fluid...
I 1 by 1 unhooked EVERY SENSOR under the hood and involved with the fuel system and gave each the male and female end of the connector a good shot of starting fluid then hooked them back together, I also sprayed the battery terminals with the fluid... Now as i said I did EVERY sensor..
I started as follows
Battery terminals
Mass air flow sensor (MAF)
Injector plugs
TPS
Thermosensor
ALL the ground connections
Main harness connector
Fuel pump plug
All emmisions plugs
and just kept going untill they were all complete....
RESULTS- Well i really can't tell you which one of them was the culprit (guessing MAF and battery ground) but the process described SOLVED the problem and it only cost $1.99....I can rev smoothly way past redline without missing a beat....... So if you are having Random hesitations when the car is cold or hot or all the time or sometimes give this a shot...
Good luck and at least do this first before tearing into buying a bunch of parts you wont need.

Great Job glad you fixed it finally, this is the first thing I tell people when they complain of hesitation, clean your AFM connctions. I searched through every hesition thread there was and tryed everthing they said, and nothing worked. So I went through wiggling all my connectors until I got to the AFM and found if I held it in just the right postion the hesitation would dissapear, so I chalked it up to bad wireing and taped it up finally I got tired of having to adjust it an bought some electonics cleaner an poof problem solved. I would have to do this every so often and coulden't figure out why and I finnaly discoverd it happend only after I re-oiled my K&N filter, the oil would get into the connector and cause the bad connection. The problem stops after about a day when the oil get fully absorbed. So moral of the story clean the AFM connector people!

CRC "QD contact cleaner" in the electrical section at Home Depot.
It's a little less harsh on plastic & paint, and works great.
I use it for: all connector plugs, TPS plungers, door lock contacts, window switch contacts, logicon buttons & sliders, portable phone charger contacts & buttons, remote control buttons, etc. etc...

"starting fluid"
sorry, I'm lame.......what's "starting fluid"/brands/where I can purchase.
I'm suddenly having a funny Idling problem that I just posted a thread about. I have always had a little hesitation at 3800 when I'm trying to haul *** around town, but have been to lazy to fix it. I'm usually cruising around with the rare punch to the rocket! This sounds like a good little sunday project....seeing as how it's my only day off.....now that I started my totally rad welding classes!

You can go to walmart or kmart and in the Auto section you will see starting fluid...it is used to help start a car that has bad injectors or has been sitting a while..ect. I only used starting fluid as opposed to QD electronic cleaner because starting fluid does the same thing and costs $1.99 instead of $4.99 like the QD..THey both work fine....
