ran out of gas and now.....

hey guys my 89 gxl bone stock ran out of gas the other day. now i put gas in it and it took a while to start. when it finaly started a white cloud of smoke was comming out of the exhaust for about 1 minute and it smelled like gas. It stopped and i drove the car around and it felt fine. parked her for the night and now this morning i i started and again a puff of white smoke. Not alot at all and it was only for about 10 seconds and stopped smoking.

Like i said it wasnt alot at all but noticable. What should I check or whats going on.

Thanks..

White smoke is typically an indicator of an internal coolant leak, but if you never had that problem before, I suggest going through the severe deflooding procedure and see if that fixes it.

(It shouldn't make much of a difference if you've already been running the car for a while.)

I say its a bunch of crap from the bottom of the tank getting through your fuel system. It should fix itself but I would recommend replacing your fuel filter.

Don't worry about it..If the car is running just like Before(you ran out of gas) then Chances are that it was just Too much gas..(flooded)..BUT,change your Fuel filter, and if you want to Go "all out" change the Sock in the tank Too.

Coolo thanks guys. I was thinking the same that it sucked up some crap from the bottom of the tank and also that the extra gas was just burning out. And yeah never had a coolant problem so i know it's not that.

Im going to change the fuel filter like suggested and also run a bottle of fuel cleaner threw it.

Thanks

Since its getting into the cold season its probably condensation. I doubt its a coolant seal though.
