rain/ water cause of battery discharge?

my battery is dead again!!!!!!!!!

i was ***** footing through the rain home from work the other day, and today my battery is dead !
the battery is less than 4 months old and an auto sparky told me my electrical system was a1.

could the rain be my problem?
the drive home was about 1 hour
and i was cruising at less than 2000 rpm at most times

thanks

naaa, charge your battery back up, and if it dies again check your alternator. I had the same problem, and I THOUGHT it could have been rain also

oh no because, i was looking through the workshop manual and it says when steam cleaning your car put a plastic bag over the alternator. Thought it would cause problems??

mine didnt go bad from rain, it just went bad, the diodes were bad. if yur batttery wont hold a charge it's either a cable leading to the alternator, or the alternator diodes are bad. your cheapest fix is to get the alternator rebuilt for like 50$$

when you try to start, does the starter click, if so the battery is totally drained, and it's more than likely your alternator is bad

yeah i think it's partly due to a bad alternator.
because i don't think it will cahrge till it's like over a few thousand rpm.

my car was punished on the way to work today, and after an eight hour shift it started again, twice. once it stalled because of the stupid microtech idleing.

we'll see tomorrow morning.

5 point: it was drained yesterday morning, the car turned over. but it usually takes about 10 turns to start the damn thing. (bad sparkies) but after the fifth or so turn, it kinda died out and i left it like that so i'd be easier to jump start it.
