good chance the windshield is leaking, or the rain track is leak as that runs through the dash and out the fender above the fuse box.

Check that the drians in the bottom of the door are clear, when they are plugged (even 50%) a heavy rain can cause the bottom of the door to fill with water and it will spill over just behind the door interior onto the area you describe.

If you want to check the windshield for leaks, get a cup of water and mix some dishsoap with it. Have a buddy in the car with an air blower and slowly pour the water along the top of the glass, follow the stream of water with the blower, if you get bubbles - you've got a leak.

Also check that you sunroof pan drains and hatch jamb drains are clear also....never hurts....

Rubber plugs under the carpet

There are drain holes underneath the carpet that are plugged with rubber plugs.

Perhaps one or more of your plugs are not there?

I would think that the lack of the drain plugs would mean that the water would drain out instead of pooling, hence being plugs for drains.

I am agreeing with the windshield leak or door drain comments. My fiancee's vert has a **** ton of leaks, many that were poorly resealed with foam, which didnt work at all. Needless to say ALL NEW seals will be ordered from wherever they are most affordable. lolol The windshield lower seal is leaking on hers which causes it to trickle down the dash. Check the door seal as well, if it is leaking at all the water will gush in... are the seats wet at all? That is a tall-tell sign.

check and make sure I know I had to repair the rust where the floor board and rocker panels meet I welded in new metal because you could actually see through the floor.

That is where I am right now, only its behind the seats, just in front of the reinforcement bar. I'm thinking of just welding some 1/16 steel sheet in after I remove all the rusted junk (holes....) ...and remove the fiberglass 'repair', as well as stitch weld the reinforcement bar for extra strength.

We had bad rain in Georgia on Friday and Saturday --- it resulted in the death of one of my high school friends and the *hopefully temporary* half blinding of another - each driving in a seperate car.

On the bright side, we're still in a drought down here, but maybe the rain is helping? Lake lanier is down 5.5 feet.
