Radiator Install

I have a 1988 RX-7 Convertible and am going to be replacing my radiator and have a few questions.
1. What else do I need to replace other than the two radiator hoses? (I just replaced the thermostat and gasket the other day. I heard something about a heater hose)
2. What brand of radiators I know of a few by name only?
3. Anti freeze or alternative (Water Wetter, etc.)?
4. Is there a lot involved or is it pretty easy? (Do I have to remove the fan etc.)

I replaced the radiator on my tII and it was simple. I replaced it with a koyo and and it practicly was a direct fit (no fab at all). Anyways the heater hose your talking about is under the oil pedestal (filter) and usually if your oil leaks it will leak on this hose causing the hose to leak. You can get the part from mazda. also I would change the water pump while I was there if I where you. good luck

The heater hose you might be talking about is down there on the right side, near the lower rad hose. It runs between the rad plumbing "nipple" and the metal portion of the heater return. Of course, it's always a good idea to replace the one hondahater is talking about, too...

Yes, you'll have to remove the fan & shroud. No big deal. The rad is held in place by 4 12mm bolts, with rubber insert mounts (don't lose those). And the electrical connections at the level sensor and temp switch in the lower left corner will have to be removed/ reconnected. 50/50 mix of antifreeze & distilled water has always worked well for me...

you should probably fix whatever the problem is instead of patching it. Anyways do you usually wait till your car is warmed up before you drive it???

Among other things, that temp switch helps to activate the 3,000 rpm accelerated warm-up system, which will be inop with the switch disconnected. The switch makes contact at about 60*F...

What else have you taken off of your engine, Tri?

i kinda forgot...
but i know i over did and took out to much stuff...
the car ran like $hit/crap when is cool/just start up...
it'll die right after start up if not hold down the gas/rpm up to 3k for 15 sec...
i think it's a great cheap anti-start engine for me.
but then no one would took my 7 cause it look like a POS.
.
in winter without the subzero thingy...
will it harm my car? i didn't see any of those system in my s5.
so i rip them off my s4 gtu too.

do you know what wire to run the blower?
i took out a/c and now the blower doesn't blower at all.
winter is coming i have to make it b 4 that.
i would like to know so i could start out in the right direction.
i truely don't want to hot wire that blower too.

No, you won't need the subzero system in Georgia, lol...Just make sure you plugged the holes in the intake good when you removed it, or you'll have vac leaks...

I don't know why taking out the A/C should cause the blower to die??? The blower might be a logicon problem, or the motor itself. Hot wire it at your own discretion, I accept no responsibility, lol...
