Racingbeat production is down, read why!
Just got off the phone with them a little while ago, they no longer have anything associated with their turbo back system. i bought the very last downpipe, and it was actually defective (surface scratches). I asked the guy what is going on over there;
He told me that they actually contract out to another company for their 3" turbo back systems, this company raised the price, so RB said NO WAY. (Who the hell is making these systems???!?!?!?!?!???!? I dont know if it is RSR)
RB is planning on bringing production of the Turbo Back system back alive through their own manifacturing facility, Chris said they are actually planning the whole line right now. This will take just a few weeks to get systems back on their shelves.
The fellow, Chris, over the phone said that in 2 months they will have about 40 turbo back sstems readily available to ship out! ONLY 40!!!
i hope this isnt a sign for the end of racingbeat, I felt bad, so I ordered some gaskets which I was planning on buying cheaper in my area. Chris gave me a complementary Tshirt and a catalog.

They just sighned on with Mazda to tune the MP3. I would imagine that would be good for buisness. Just because they are going to make their own exhaust system doesn't mean they are going out of buisness. I don't even understand this logic.
The fact that they are making "only 40" exhaust systems in their first production run doesn't mean a thing.
How many T2's do you see a day? How many do you see with aftermarket exhaust? How many do you see with Racing Beat exhaust?
I'm sure these are not a high demand items. I would be suprised if they sell 40 T2 turbo back systems in a year. These arent exactly Honda's we're driving.
I seriously doubt that Racing Beat is going anywhere.

I like Racing Beat because they support people like us who may not have the most popular cars but they still make great products, even if they would make more money developing for certain OTHER cars -cough-Honduh-cough-, very professional people. And SaabGuy, what is up with your Avatar? freaks the **** out of me everytime.

It was a good business decision. If a company that makes the system raises the price, you make it your self if it will save money in the long run. The reason they are only producing 40 would be because, they will be making the system themselves and prob will not be identical. They have to see how well these exhausts perform, and how large of a demand there is for them. Hope that makes sense.

Their most famous products are still headers, intake manifolds and their world famous weed whacker noise mufflers for first gen (Which work great on turbos believe it or not).

Hey, My avatar was found at www.uglypeople.com. Dont knock it.
Chris (at RB) said that the turbo back system that they are going to make is going to be exactly the same as the old system. i think he said it will even be black, but everything will be interchangeable.
Chris said they loaned the plan for the exhaust to the former contractor, Racingbeat owns the plans for the system. The same schematics and stuff will continue to be used at their own plant for the production. The system should be exactly the same i guess.
I guess when he said they are only gonna make 40 exhausts, that made me think that there really arent too many tII's left out there. 40 exhausts in a year?? woow.. 15 years * 40 per year = 600 sold. Does that seem about right??

I know first hand what is up with that new RB system. Joe Romeo, co-admin of FC3S.org, lent RB his very clean 10th AE for use during their jig creating. They needed a clean TII so that they could test fit the exhausts that came off of the new jig's so that they could ensure the exhausts would work just as good as the ones they have sold for years. How many people need a whole new exhaust every month? Not more than 40 I don't imagine. That is a pretty expensive system so not everyone can afford it, and might just go with a catback or similar.
I wouldn't worry about RB, since I know that they aren't going anywhere anytime soon.
