Racing seats?

Im in the market for some seats for my 88 convertible. I want to get some racing seats, and I just need to know what seats will fit in it. Im 6'6" too so if the seats can mount without taking up anymore room than my current seats then that's super fantastic. Any suggestions too is appreciated.

I have stock 240z seats in my FC.

They look very sexy....the only bad thing is that they don't hold you as new racing seats that are now on the market and that they are a little skinnier then the stock RX7 seats.

i have an 89 vert and im wondering the same thing. MY seats are shot. Howare the JEGS seats as far as fit and daily driving comfort? They are those hard plastic seats with the soft vinyl covers you can buy. They look lightweight. The all black vinyl looks very nice. They don't recline and im just worried that I the hard plastic won't be comfy for a daily driver.

How hard is it to put in FD seats? Black FD seats would be my ultimate choice. Vert seats are too square with those headrests. I think they are ugly.

Yeah, i've been looking around the forum and nobody seems to know. The driver seat has a giant rip in it and both seats are well beyond salvage. Do the coupe seats fit in the convertible, that would be a temporary fix for my racing seat craving.

I have Recaro seats. I love them, if you want pics email me davidwilliams@austin.rr.com. They're early 90's Recaro. But they're comfortable, fit like a glove, and quite nice. They were worth 300 each when the previous owner installed them though (found the price tags).

I was wondering if any one know how diffcult it is to make a bracket so it would fit in the car? Is there existing brackets that you can buy? Thank you!!

use the stock rails

it's makes it much easier

you just have to make the brackets to adapt the stock sliders to the new seat anchors.

It's hard to get the seat straight and low as possible.

Plan for an all day job. Once done they are nice though.

I used the factory sliders with mine, all i had to do was drill a few new hols and they worked. like Sesshoumaru said, it's hard to get them in there right. I spent 2 days on it. They still sit too high and i bang my head on the roof rail all the time, but once im in there fine. had to get a new steering wheel to set my seat right to drive. It's still 1000 times better than sporting the ripped leather specials.

yeah dude get some reclinables my seats are hard to get in to and hard to get out of plus they are hard to mount and hard to move because you have to take them out then move rails then reinstall them. but they weigh like 10 pounds!
